I guess the reason most of the people are not contributing is because they do not see any strategy going forward. I am sure IV core is working hard on the issues but there is lack of clarity as an organization.When the bulletins come out and dates dont move forward significantly, people start with various ideas ranging from flower campaign to eliminating country cap to EB3 - EB2 portability to ....( Most of them die by the middle of the month).If we look at the past, contribution campaigns have been successful ( up to reasonable extent) when there is a favorable bill on the floor and people see some hope. I remember till last year there was a guy ( I think Chandu13 ) who tried to motivate people for contribution by calling them coward, lazy.....Believe me it never worked...
So I think it is time to get serious and have some synergy and that might motivate people to come forward, participate and contribute.

I will give you a sincere and useful suggestion, that hopefully will be valid to others as well. Please refrain from pulling the race card on people talking about immigration. That makes you look emotional, character assassin and worse, that can make people perceive you as a racist yourself. That is the failed tactics used by illegal aliens and uneducated people when confronted with the reality that their attitude and posture is irrational. As far as I can tell, NumbersUSA objects against Irish people who came here illegally. Therefore I do not see any correlation between racial profiling there as you seem to persist. I am not here to defend NumbersUSA or Lou Dobbs. I am just here to remind you that if we continue following the rationale "us vs them" and doing character assassination, we will undeniably face rough opposition and struggle to get what we deserve.

In this case, this classic rule has applied beyond expectations because people who are calling are already racist who sit on their ass and expect all colored people to be their slaves and get things done for them. They want their mexican maid or indian computer programmer doing things for them but the moment they realize that these foreigners might get citizenship and be equal to them, they dont like that.... Problem with that argument once you own more than 5% of the company you will have file as investor. If your wife owns the company then you will have file under relative category. There were denials based on this.

This thread just puts things in perspective. Getting a GC and beyond is a good thing, but in the larger scheme of things, enjoying the present moment and enjoying what you got is far more important. You never know when it can end !

They are requiring them to transfer from L1 to H1 status for L1 extensions. This will also mean an opportunity for them to move on to better paying companies and green card sponsoring companies, when they get a H1B status. All EB categories will be current all the time. As soon as a I485 EB case is filed the visa number should be allocated to the first 8000 odd cases for that category based on the PD of application. If a new case is filed tomorrow with a old PD he will get the visa number and the last guys application will move to waiting list. At the beginning of the year all visa numbers are allocated and nothing is wasted, even if the case is having issues like RFE, FBI check, etc the applicant knows that once cleared he will get his GC.

That lawsuit Idea is still very much alive but not relevant to this. Plus that idea will take some time. I also don't beleive I had been unethical.
The bottomline, you would agree, the reason we all are lurking on this forum is to get our GC. I can assure you and the other core members of one thing, I will not do anything which is I beleive is unethical on not within the boundaries of the law.
The other day you spent the entire day answering every question(s) people had. I even told my wife that our good friend is going to take all our worries out pretty soon. EB2 will no longer going accept porting so we will go faster and then guess what you didn't even file the law suit yet....you let us down!!
I have a humble suggestion for you, please concentrate on your work and read some books on ethics and leave the GC processing to CIS.

Anyway, moving forward...It will be nice to make a list of desirable points in a bill that is independent of any cause for illegal immigrants. I will start with two points. You can add more if you like. If there is enough momentum and support for these points, then in a truly democratic environment, we may want to modify the core IV goals to reflect that (Ideally I would prefer that there be a vote for what should be the core goals...after all most people here have contributed something towards the cause...and only those who have contributed should be allowed to vote...no free lunch).
1. Allow people to file for 485 and get EAD even if visa numbers are not available
2. Allow EAD to be FULLY portable without restrictons (i.e., irrespective of job description or job title or job location or salary).
The above two dont ask for sweeping changes in immigration laws such as increase visa numbers etc. etc. and are easy for the average American person to understand. And so can hopefuly be passed easily.
With the above two passed, I dont think many people will complain if it takes another 5 years to get their GC. Agree?
By the way, I have got my EAD card and my PD is also current. So the above two goals will be redundant for me. My story is that I am stuck in FBI namecheck. But the moderators have already indicated that it cant be one of the core goals. So I would not list that even if I would like that to be one of the core goals.

I just responded to some ignorant comments by some people. I have been to India and hope to go back, and have many great friends from there. What discouraged me is that some people will attack my country especially in a forum where that doesn't belong and where we are all trying to help each other. Any divisions among us are a victory for our detractors. I hope you understand. Let's focus on helping each other going forward, and let's all be friends! Thanks.

EAD applied on Jun11th approved at TSC. Received cards yesterday.
To my surprise my EAD is valid for 2 years.
My PD is Nov 2004 EB2
I140 pending at TSC.
I thought 2 year EAD is only for cases that had approved 140. Is it not the case?
