Hi,
I have thrown a challenge to IV DC chapter about who will get a bigger gathering on 07/14, San Jose or D.C.
Our Chinese friends are also posting this at Chinese grocery store, on websites and also at local news forums.
I need volunteers in bay area! Please send me a PM with your e-mail address, if possible phone numbers and a good time to contact so that we can spread the word in Bay area. I already have one volunteer need more.

Thanks for your advice. The intent of the letter is to show a different perspective to Senator Sessions. Nothing more or nothig less. He said he did not receive any feedback from legal immigrants. Fine, we say here it comes. If he continues to block legal immigration reform bills, he has to find another pretext, not "no feedback from immigrants".
There is always a rational side in every human being. Senator Sessions is smart. Let us hope Senator Sessions surprises us by bringing his own version of EB immigration reform.

That means nothing in the court actually. It takes a lot more such as violation of trade-secrets for a court to rule against an employee. If hitting revenue was a valid reason not to change a job, nobody will ever be able to change a job.
What you mention is a common misconception.

Previous years Oct Visa Bulletins doesn't look encouraging at all, EB-3 India moved by a week and other categories move by a month or 2. With USCIS taking huge no. of applications in june'07 the future of oct'07 seems to be pretty bleak, It is quiet depressing. We surely need this legislation of ability to file 485 even if visa dates not current.
And also recapture lost visa #s in previous several years automatically and increase efficiency in adjudicating cases (including name check, etc.). :D

Agree with mostly what you have said. Question still remains what causes people not to contribute even 20$ now while in the past they have contributed 50 , 100 or even more. Just something to think about.
I disagree. Changes in laws do not happen overnight and any efforts that core is making cannot be made public all the time. If they can get thousands of people the benefit of moving to EAD etc. then I am sure they are working behind the scenes to get more favorable changes done when the time is right. I have faith in their ability.
Moreover since I am not actively volunteering in any activities the least I can do is contribute. So I call on everyone to contribute for your cause - none of us is doing anyone a favor by contributing. We are DIRECTLY favoring us by making a contribution.

Hello All,
I am in the same situation in that I too have not received my FP notice as yet. Filed July 23rd at TSC. The application was transferred to CSC and then back to TSC. I opened a SR on October 5th and still have not received a FP notice. When I called to follow up, I've was told that the TSC is significantly delayed because of the volume of applications they received and to wait 90 days!
For those of you who have used infopass, was it helpful in getting your FP scheduled?
Also, can the person who wrote to the obudsman post the e-mail address and format of what he/she wrote? This would make it easier for those of us who would also like to send an e-mail.

I find the second proposal very reasonable. If anyone is waiting for more than 5 years, then make that person exempt from country quota.
I'm not saying this because I've already waited five years. It makes sense to flush out oldest PD in the system. This would give people an idea about the wait time.
I'm fine even it is made to say, 6 or 7 years......We just need to know what to expect and how long to wait rather than being subjected to the whims and fancies of politicians and vagaries of the economic boom and bust!
Whether, it is 5,6 or 7 years can be debated but a reasonable time frame would really help.
When the spill over happened based on PD, it was doing exactly that; the oldest applicants ( who were typically EB3 I/C) were flushed out of the system.
When the criteria got changed (fEB category first and then PD), the applicants with oldest PDs were made to wait even longer.
I dont expect a GC before 2010. That would make about 8 years with multiple boom and bust. When the economy is bad, we need to be free to look for other jobs. With the shackle of visa sponsorship, one would easily become a viction of a recession.
I know few of my friend who went back in 2001 - 2002. I was fortunate to survive then....Not sure what is in store now......

It sounds easy..but funding drives are not always easy when reality strikes...how about starting a spreadsheet with names and ph# of people who are willing to contribute $100 for this lawsuit. As soon as we have the 1000th name, we start depositing money to a bank account. 100 grand is not small amount and I am sure we can find a good enough lawyer to start a lawsuit for that kind of money.
I and my wife are ready with our 100 bucks each.....and can help with maintaing the spreadsheet etc.... how do we get those 1000 names now....or do we even have support of 1000 people around here...that is the biggest question.

How can contributing $1000.00 to immigration voice solves this problem? You are telling like a swami's in India, give me money I will do some pooja on your behalf and all your problems will be solved.
The money is not for me or for the Immigration Voice but for the lobbying to make the uscis or the government understand how the employment based GC system is outdated, and how the people who came to usa with an American Dream are being played by the rules not for days or weeks or months but for years and years. And procrastinating their American Dream because of the limitations they have during the GC process.
Active participation or contribution of 10 or 20 or 100 people wont be any effective unless and untill we all do it collectively.
The money is not for me or for the Immigration Voice but for the lobbying to make the uscis or the government understand how the employment based GC system is outdated, and how the people who came to usa with an American Dream are being played by the rules not for days or weeks or months but for years and years.
