What pisses me off is that there are 220,000 visa numbers every year for family based GCs while skilled immigrants get only 140,000. Nothing wrong with immigrants wanting to bring immediate family members but this is causing nothing but chain migration. I think USA give more GCs to cab drivers than skilled immigrants.

ok, let me put the matter to rest before you take it out of context. My observation was based on the thread that we had for collecting the amount..I didn't see many EB3 folks contribute dollars....but now that 2 EB3 are vouching that enough EB3 folks contibuted, that's great. I just observed something and if it hurt you right down the spine, sorry. I filed PERM 3 months ago, I'm far off in this process. Just focus on advocay so that everyone gets their GCs. Good luck. I hate this EB2 vs EB3, this is a never ending debate. Just hope everyone gets their GC in time.
Nothing personal. I appreciate everybody's contribution and efforts. I was trying to dispel the notion that PD progress is somehow related to how much we contribute to advocacy efforts. That is just not true.

Another thing i have found out here among many groups of indians here is that they are trying to do what others are doing in their group so if others are not returning back then there are also not probably returning back.

Hi All,
I have to do the landing before june, 2008.
I have already used AP to enter US after my last trip to India. So IO at POE canada will know that I have pending 485. don't know how to handle this situation.
I am planning to do the landing in last week of may via Niagra falls. (toronto)
anyone with similar status done landing please share your experience.

Guys everybody has a story, in my area Labors were getting cleared in less than 1 month in mid of 2003. When my attorney filed my labor and we didn�t hear on it for 3 months, my Attorney called up the local labor dept. they told him that the person who used to do foreign labor certs met with an accident and is on extended leave, It took 13 months for the local office, by that time BECs were born, retrogression�..

Anything less then 50,000 is not acceptable, If people are very hurted by this fiasco, they need to step, one polish women filed the law suit, we are still here discussion here, including me.

Receipt# is printed on check after it's cashed.
In my case, my employer asked me to make checks payable to employer (for attorney fees as well as filing fees) and they cut the check for USCIS and attorneys. I don't understand how it helps them but delays in my getting the receipt#. If they let me pay directly to USCIS, I could at least get the receipt#s. My I-485 was received at NSC on 06/04/2007 morning.

Any lobbying for immigration is tough at the time of recession. I think you are trying to do advocacy effort. Without getting approval from core IV group it will not be any use as advocacy effort only will not work. Senators will note your concerns and will act only if some bill is introduced. You need lobbying with advocacy effort for changing any law. Lobbyists will lobby only at right time as if they do in wrong time it will backfire.
This is what puzzles me, on one hand you tell us 'You couldn't even begin to imagine how many cases like this there are'....
Which is exactly I have been saying, unless we do something EB3 India could be waiting for a decade or 2...
But on the other hand if I want to address this issue in a manner which could see least resistance, you tells me I'm living in 'Utopia', administrator threatens to 'Ban' me ????

I told them it�s almost one a month, I didn�t get my card yet. Then they gave me a token number and when my turn came. I met the USCIS officer he wasn�t much help at all. he just gave me 551 stamp for 1yr and when I asked him about biometric he said last year I took in Oct-07 its good till next month and I don�t need it.
I was expecting 551 stamp look like h1 visa stamp, but it�s just an ordinary stamp.
After coming home I called USCIS asked them about the card. She told me that card was sent out for production today and I should get it within 1 week to 30 days. Because it was sent out today that�s the reason I didn�t get the email update
Approved on 8-12-08

I think the Stamp is equal to the card. But any way you got to know that the card is ordred for production.
Is it happened because you went to Infopass and something is updated there or is it a coincidence?
Did you cal the USCIS regular customer service number to know the status?
Id there any change in the online message of Approval Notice sent to Card production is ordered?
Mine is exactly the same as yours. Your inputs will be helpful to me and I too need to go to Newark if needed.
